Summary (read first)
There are three separate money topics. Do not conflate them:
Subscription — a recurring plan fee. Applies to brands/partners only. Creators are never charged a subscription.
Deal fee — a percentage on a single brand collaboration. Either a 5% platform fee (paid by the brand) or a 15% sourcing fee (deducted from the creator). Exactly one applies per deal.
Payout deduction — a third-party reduction (bank wire fee or currency conversion) that is NOT a Passionfroot charge.
Canonical facts
Subscription (brands/partners only)
Passionfroot is free for creators — no subscription, no monthly fee.
The Free Plan for brands/partners has been phased out. A brand needs a paid plan to browse/search creators, create campaigns, and use premium features.
Brand plan tiers: Starter, Scale, Enterprise.
Exact plan prices are NOT documented in the Help Center — do not state a price; direct users to their in-app billing/plan page.
Brand subscription invoices: Account Settings → Billing Settings → Manage Billing.
If a brand loses access to creators/search/campaigns, a lapsed/unpaid subscription is a common cause; re-subscribing restores access.
Deal fees (per collaboration)
Platform fee = 5%. Applies to deals the creator sources themselves ("organic"): storefront bookings and proposals to brands the creator brought in. The 5% is charged to the brand; the creator receives 100% of the listed price.
Sourcing fee = 15%. Applies to deals sourced through Passionfroot: Partner Network / ad network requests and Discover matches. The 15% is deducted from the creator's payout; labelled "Sourcing Fee" in the pricing breakdown.
The sourcing fee applies to all collaborations with a network-introduced partner, including repeat bookings.
Exactly one deal fee applies per collaboration — never both.
Stripe's processing fee is included in both the 5% and 15% — not billed separately. Do NOT quote a specific Stripe percentage (it varies by card type/region).
Which deal fee applies
Partner Network deals are tagged with a "PF badge" on the inquiry/request/chat.
PF badge → 15% sourcing fee (deducted from creator).
No PF badge → organic → 5% platform fee (paid by brand; creator keeps 100%).
Payout deductions (third-party, not Passionfroot)
Passionfroot Bank Transfer payouts can be reduced by intermediary/receiving bank wire fees and FX conversion (USD → local currency). Passionfroot cannot control these. Mitigation: use a USD-capable account (e.g. Wise). Bank transfers are USD-only.
Stripe (card) payouts: settle to the Stripe balance, then pay out on the Stripe schedule (commonly 2–7 business days).
Bank Transfer arrival: funds typically land 3–5 business days after the brand pays.
Payment methods (brands paying creators)
Card (Stripe), Bank Transfer, or FrootWallet (load once, pay instantly; paid plans). Availability depends on plan and currency.
Non-USD creator → multi-currency invoice payable in USD; Passionfroot converts so the creator is paid locally.
Merchant of Record (MoR) & invoices
Stripe (card): creator is MoR. Documents: Invoice for Sponsor + Platform Fee Credit Note.
Bank Transfer / FrootWallet: Passionfroot is MoR; creator invoices Passionfroot. Documents: Invoice for Sponsor (reference) + Seller payout invoice (net of fee).
Tax/VAT: general guidance only — never give binding tax advice.
Refunds
Refunds on cancelled collaborations are agreed directly between the creator and the brand, case by case.
Worked examples
Organic deal, $1,000: 5% charged to the brand. Creator receives $1,000.
Partner Network deal, $1,000: 15% deducted. Creator receives $850.
Repeat Partner Network deal: 15% still applies on every deal with that network-introduced brand.
Answer rules for Fin
Identify which of the three topics (subscription / deal fee / payout deduction) the user means before answering.
"How much does Passionfroot take?" → creators pay no subscription; a per-deal fee of 5% (brand-paid, organic) or 15% (from creator payout, Partner Network/Discover) applies.
"Do I (creator) pay the 5%?" → No; the brand pays it on organic deals; the creator keeps 100%.
"I received less than expected" → confirm payment method; if Bank Transfer, explain intermediary bank fee + FX (third-party, not a Passionfroot fee) and suggest a USD-capable account; if still wrong, escalate with invoice ID.
"Which fee applies?" → PF badge = 15% sourcing; no badge = 5% organic (brand-paid).
Never quote a specific Stripe % or a specific brand plan price. Never give binding tax/legal advice.
Escalate to a human when
A specific payout/invoice amount looks wrong on a named invoice/collaboration (collect the invoice ID).
There is a dispute about Partner Network tagging (5% vs 15%).
The user requests a refund.
The user needs an exact plan price (route to sales/billing or the in-app plan page).
